Well, what a week! We successfully released the Sunshine Coast Business Confidence Survey in partnership with our naming rights sponsors the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE last Thursday to a crowd of leading business figures.
The room was a buzz with a variety of comments about local trading conditions including anecdotes from the local business community. Anticipation was running high at the start of the event as to ‘what’ the survey results would reveal...
Rebecca Marshall, the Business Editor at the Sunshine Coast Daily did a fabulous job MC’ing the lunch and created a fast paced and interesting discussion with our four panelists: Cr Debbie Blumel from Regional Development Australia, Ross Hepworth, Director SC TAFE, Professor Mike Hefferan from the USC and Alan Scott from Deloittes.
The results were as expected and reflected the anecdotal evidence gathering momentum on the Coast – that being that our local business community is struggling. To download a copy of the report head directly to our survey page here.
However, the optimism was still evident with many businesses looking to the future with a positive light.
Media coverage
The results attracted strong media coverage with both Win News and Channel 7 coming along to interview our panelists. A big thanks to Libby Callister the media guru for all her efforts on this topic, see video below for some of the coverage.
And of course we had excellent coverage with the local print media outlets such as the Sunshine Coast Daily.
Big THANKS
A big thanks to everyone who played a role in this latest survey. This includes a big thanks to those of you who filled in the survey, and thanks to those of you who also helped pass on the word about the survey to your networks.
Without your support this survey would not be possible.
And of course a big thanks to our naming rights sponsor the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE.
It was great to see everyone at the launch and I wished I had had a chance to catch up with more of you on the day.
